The paddle wheel controller is an input device similar to the |mouse|. Instead of a |tracking ball| a paddle wheel uses a dial to change the cursor location or the display perspective. It is preferable to other input devices for some applications, especially when movement along a strict directional axis is required. The paddle wheel controller occasionally is equipped with selector buttons so that specific cursor functions may be selected.
